It’s the Viking Festival – Flag Fen’s event of the year! Step into a thrilling living history weekend with authentic Viking camps, have-a-go archery. Packed with action, atmosphere, and hands-on fun, this unforgettable festival has something for everyone, from families and first-time explorers to history-loving adults. Each day culminates in the spectacular & dramatic re-enactment of The Battle of the Holme (902 AD) – a powerful spectacle that brings history vividly to life.

The new Friday Night Lectures programme opens up current archaeological research and specialist knowledge to a wider audience. Join them for engaging evening talks that deepen understanding of the past while supporting the ongoing care of the Flag Fen site.
24 April they welcome Mark Knight, Archaeologist from Cambridge Archaeological Unit for a talk that presents 44 years of investigation as an archaeological odyssey around the Flag Fen Basin.
