Agriculture and its associated industries have been at the centre of life and work in north-west Essex for many centuries. This book examines different examples of farming in the past and the industries processing its main local products (malt and wool). It also contains a chapter on the 19th century plan to construct a canal through Saffron Walden and ends by reviewing changes in farming over the last 40 years and reflecting on the future.

Hello. I would like to buy the publication Land, Agriculture and Industry in North-west Essex: spotlights on a land remembered, by Geoffrey Ball
Can you advise how to proceed?
Many thanks
Ilse
Dear Ilse,
I’m afraid we have no more copies in stock, but I see on Abebooks.com that there are two second hand copies for sale, priced at £11 and £12, which seems reasonable. Otherwise you can find a copy at the Gibson Library in Saffron Walden. I hope you can find what you want.
Best wishes, Martin Rose SWHS
Ilse, sorry – slight error. The two copies are on Abebooks.co.uk. Best wishes again, Martin
