Autumn 2015 Journal

The Autumn 2015 edition of the Journal is the 30th since its relaunch all those years ago. In that time we have carried dozens of articles of new research, many of them now available freely on this website. The new issue has as usual many features of wide interest including: a fascinating insight into the paintings of William Tomkins of Audley End; a look at the six Essex barons who were among the 25 involved in Magna Carta; some insights into a remarkable set of solicitors’ deeds; a local connection to the slave trade; a link between the town and Napoleon Bonaparte; memories of Sewards End – and more. With some beautiful images on the colour page and another stunning cover, this is a must-buy issue again, and as usual is on sale at the Tourist Information CentreSW Journal No 30 Autumn 2015 - cover price £3.
